One can easily make a homemade cleaning solution for such jewellery which does not cost a lot.

One can use common household products such as salt, baking soda, ketchup, vinegar, toothpaste, dish detergent and the like. These products are really not pricey and easy to use, so there really is no excuse why you should be able to clean your priced possessions at home. Not only are they very accessible, but such products are also safer for the environment. Next, you will need rubber gloves and tweezers so you can protect your hands from the solutions that you will make.

A simple cleaning method one can do at home is by soaking jewellery in a bowl with two cups apple cider vinegar for about 15 fifteen minutes. You can then take them out and dry it on a soft cloth. Another example is by soaking silver jewellery into a solution of one cup white vinegar and four tablespoons of baking soda for about three hours. You can also heat the vinegar in the microwave oven and add the baking soda after. Once the solution starts to foam, soak the jewellery for about five minutes. Do not forget to scrub hard to reach places and rinse your jewellery with water. However, the heating part of it makes it unsuitable to clean pearls and other soft stones as it can damage it.
